An Giang Provincial Journalists Association holds Congress after merger

An Giang - The Congress of the Journalists Association is an important event marking a new development step after the merger of the Journalists Associations of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces.

On August 27, in Rach Gia ward, the An Giang Provincial Journalists Association held the 1st Delegate Congress, term 2026-2031. This is the first congress after the merger of provincial-level administrative units, opening a new phase of the Association's organization.

The Congress took place in 2 days (August 27 and 28), with more than 127 official delegates, representing 394 members at 8 grassroots Associations, including 1 inter-branch association and 7 branches. Attending the Congress were leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province; representatives of departments, agencies, branches, press agencies and generations of journalists.

On August 27, the Congress elected the Presidium, Secretariat, and Appraisal Board for delegate qualifications; approved regulations; elected the Executive Committee, the Inspection Board of the I term and the Delegation to attend the higher-level Congress.

After that, the Executive Committee of the I term held the first Conference. The solemn session took place on the morning of August 28, with the following contents: presentation and discussion of the Political Report; listening to directing speeches from leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam Journalists Association; launching the new Executive Committee and passing the Congress Resolution.

The Congress identified the motto for the 2026-2031 term as "Solidarity - Creativity - Professionalism - Humanity", with the theme "Silient bravery, content creation, mastering technology, serving the Fatherland and homeland".

Political report summarizing the activities of the Journalists Associations of An Giang and Kien Giang provinces in the period 2020-2025, and at the same time setting out tasks for the new period. The focus is on improving professional and nghiệp vụ quality; promoting the digitization of Association activities; strengthening multimedia journalism training and applying modern technology, improving the adaptability of journalists in the digital media environment.

The Congress is an important milestone in building the Association organization after the merger, contributing to consolidating solidarity, improving political bravery, professional ethics and professional capacity of journalists, contributing to the development of An Giang province in the new period.
