During the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City will continue to maintain its core political role, lead affiliated units to successfully complete assigned tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals.
In the period of 2020 - 2025, the "For the Poor" Fund of 3 provinces and cities (Can Tho, Hau Giang, Soc Trang) has mobilized more than VND 2,400 billion; has built and repaired more than 15,000 Great Unity houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with especially difficult housing circumstances.
In 2024 - 2025, responding to the emulation movement "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", 3 provinces and cities have implemented specific plans, clearly defining the goals, subjects and implementation progress, mobilizing the strength of the entire political system and people. As a result, Can Tho has completed the construction and repair of 531 houses; Soc Trang received over 287 billion VND, supported the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses for 8,586 poor, near-poor households, policy families, and disadvantaged households; Hau Giang started construction and completed 1,479 houses.
The City Labor Federation focuses on caring for the interests of union members and workers through the programs "Union Shelter", "Tet Sum Vay"; organizes activities on the occasion of Workers' Month, Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month, along with the movements "Good Workers", "Creative Workers".
The City Farmers' Association maintains the "Good farmers' production and business" movement, forming many effective economic models, helping members escape poverty. Mobilized the construction and donation of 76 " Farmer's Shelters" with a total cost of over 4.5 billion VND.
The City Women's Union launched the movement "Building Vietnamese women in the new era" associated with Directive 05-CT/TW, and organized many social security activities to support women in economic development.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the city left its mark with activities "Green Sunday" and "Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign" bringing practical results.
The City Veterans Association promotes the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", well implements the "Exemplary Veterans" movement associated with activities for the poor, helping each other develop the economy.
Other mass organizations and associations actively participate in policy making, scientific research, cultural dissemination, and people's diplomacy, contributing to promoting the comprehensive development of the city.
At the Congress, the decision was approved to establish the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City as a grassroots Party Committee under the Party Committees of Can Tho City Party agencies. The Party Committee has 1 departmental party and 19 Party cells under the Party Committee, with 563 Party members. The Party Committee is engraved and uses the Party Committee's seal according to regulations.
Appoint the Party Executive Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 15 comrades, and for now appointing 10 comrades; the Standing Committee of the Party Committee consists of 5 comrades.
Appointed Mr. Tran Van Chinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City - to hold the position of Party Committee Secretary. Appointed Ms. Nguyen Thi Hue Chi - Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City - to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
