Gender equality does not only stop at creating equal opportunities between men and women, but also aims to build a safe living environment where women and children are protected against all forms of violence. With that goal, in the first 6 months of 2026, the Quang Tri Provincial Women's Union has synchronously implemented many solutions to raise awareness, strengthen skills and build a network to support women and children right from the grassroots level.
According to the report of the Provincial Women's Union, the Women's Union at all levels continues to promote propaganda and dissemination of the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on gender equality, prevention and control of domestic violence, and protection of women and children. Propaganda activities are integrated into the Women's Union activities, forums, conferences, training classes and many forms of communication suitable for each locality.
In the first 6 months of the year, the whole province organized 520 propaganda sessions on guidelines and policies related to women and children; legal regulations on gender equality, prevention and control of domestic violence; and at the same time, propaganda on the topic "Promoting the role of women in the new era, the era of national rise". The activities attracted over 37,000 turns of officials, members, and women to participate.
Through communication sessions, many members are equipped with more knowledge about women's rights, children's rights, skills to identify acts of violence and abuse as well as how to seek support when necessary. This is considered an important solution to prevent violence early and remotely, contributing to building a progressive and happy family.
Along with widespread propaganda, the Provincial Women's Union also focused on improving the capacity of the Union's staff and core members. During the period, the Union organized training and communication classes on gender equality, gender-based violence prevention and control, and skills to participate in social life for 580 women.
The training classes not only provide legal knowledge but also guide counseling skills, support victims, and handle situations arising in the community. Through this, grassroots Association officials gradually promote their role as a bridge between people and functional agencies in protecting women and children.
One of the important support points for women at the grassroots level is the system of support models that have been maintained for many years. Up to now, the whole province continues to maintain and improve the quality of operation of 1,420 "Reliable Addresses in the Community" models and 75 "Building Happy Families" clubs.
These models are not only places to receive information and support women when facing difficulties, but also regularly organize activities, propagate legal knowledge, skills to build happy families, prevent domestic violence and care for and protect children. Maintaining regular activities has contributed to raising people's awareness, creating cohesion in the community and promptly supporting cases that need help.
In parallel with that, the Women's Unions at all levels also effectively implemented the Project "Propagating, mobilizing, and supporting women to participate in solving some social issues related to women". In the first 6 months of the year, the Women's Unions at all levels organized 21 training and communication classes on building happy families, reproductive health care, disease prevention and control, social evils prevention and control, food safety, fire prevention and fighting, high-tech crime prevention and control and disseminating new legal regulations to over 5,700 members, women and children.
The combination of communication, skills training and building support models in the community has created an increasingly solid network to protect women and children. Through this, many women boldly speak out against violent acts, proactively seek support, and at the same time enhance the role of families and communities in preventing risks of abuse.
In the coming time, the Quang Tri Provincial Women's Union will continue to mobilize society to implement gender equality, improve the quality of support models at the grassroots level, promote communication to change perceptions and promote the role of women in building a prosperous, progressive, and happy family, contributing to the effective implementation of sustainable development goals in the province.
