On the afternoon of May 29, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Education Magazine to organize the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the "School Order Enforcement Initiative on Prevention and Combat of School Violence" contest for the third time in 2026.
The contest is launched by the Ministry of Education and Training, widely implemented in educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and attracts students from elementary to high school levels to participate.
The organizers said they have received more than 920,000 entries. Of which, 2,184 excellent works were selected for the city-level round and 57 works were awarded prizes. There are 12 works representing Ho Chi Minh City participating in the national round in June.

Among the winning works, the initiative to use social networks and apply information technology to prevent and combat school violence by Nguyen Anh Thu, a student of class 10A4 of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (Tan Son Nhi ward) excellently won the First Prize.
According to Anh Thu, social networks are currently very familiar to students, but just one malicious comment or joke can cause harm, leading to school violence.
With her initiative, the female student approached anonymous groups on social networks to find out what bullies need and how to support them appropriately. According to her, if used properly, information technology can become a "shield" to protect students from damage in cyberspace.
Students can use the technological thinking and language of their generation to turn TikTok and Zalo into tools to prevent and combat school violence," Anh Thu shared.
The female student also believes that students cannot alone protect themselves from school violence but need the companionship of family, school and society.
A happy school is not defined by achievements but is a place where each student feels their soul is protected, their voice is heard," Anh Thu said.

Ms. Huynh Le Nhu Trang - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that school violence is an issue of particular concern to the education and social sectors. According to her, the contest is not only a playground but also a place for students to express their thoughts, desires and initiatives to build a safe and healthy school environment.
Mr. Hoang Duc Minh - Director of the Department of Students (Ministry of Education and Training) highly appreciated the response of the Ho Chi Minh City education sector with more than 920,000 entries.
According to him, the most precious thing about the competition is not the prize but the fact that students have learned to think, share and want to build schools into places of love, without violence.
