On June 29, in Quarter 24, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Binh Thanh Ward and the Women's Union of Binh Thanh Ward (HCMC) and related units organized the Launching Ceremony of the "Safe Boarding House for the Visually Impaired and Children" model. The program combines propaganda on drug prevention and control and ensuring security and order in boarding houses.
The boarding house area chosen to build the model currently has 27 rooms with 47 people, mainly visually impaired people, children and workers in difficult circumstances. The implementation of the model aims to maximize the role of landlords, Fatherland Front Committees, mass organizations and residents in building a safe and civilized living environment; and prevent crime and drugs right from the grassroots level.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the decision to establish the Self-Management Group of the boarding house area. The Group has the task of coordinating residence management, propagating laws, mobilizing tenants to well comply with regulations on fire prevention and fighting, environmental protection, maintaining general hygiene and actively participating in the movement "All people protect national security".
Tenants are also informed about the harms of drugs, methods and tricks of criminal activities to proactively improve prevention skills.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented practical gifts to boarding households in difficult circumstances, especially visually impaired people living here, to encourage, share and show the concern of local Party committees, authorities and philanthropists for vulnerable groups.
The model "Safe boarding house for the visually impaired and children" is one of the highlights of Binh Thanh ward in the goal of deploying the construction of a drug-free ward, towards boarding houses without crime and social evils. In the coming time, the locality will continue to replicate this model in the area to maintain security and order and build a meaningful and sustainable community.
