Previously, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Hanoi City issued a plan to organize city-level activities with many practical and meaningful contents to express gratitude to heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, people with meritorious services to the revolution and policy families; and at the same time widely spread the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" among all strata of the Capital's people.
Accordingly, the Conference to deploy propaganda activities and celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day will take place on the afternoon of July 17 in a direct combined online form to 126 communes and wards.
On July 19, a city-level activity to respond to the "Green Weekend" will be held at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and Phu La Martyrs' Cemetery (Kien Hung ward). The program includes activities to offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, commemorate heroic martyrs, launch environmental sanitation campaigns, take care of green trees, renovate the cemetery grounds and sanitize martyrs' graves.
After the pilot activity, communes and wards in the city will simultaneously deploy campaigns on July 18, 19 and 25, contributing to maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful landscape at martyrs' memorial sites.
The highlight of the series of activities is the program to meet and express gratitude to veterans who are typical wounded soldiers in particularly difficult circumstances, which took place on the morning of July 21 at the Hanoi Veterans Association.
At the program, the city will present symbolic signs to support the repair of 79 houses for veteran members in particularly difficult circumstances with a total budget of 2.37 billion VND; present wheelchairs to veterans with critical illnesses who are no longer able to walk; and present 130 gratitude gifts, each worth 2 million VND in cash and gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and typical wounded soldiers.
From July 20 to 23, working delegations of the city and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City will organize visits and give gifts to people with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and wounded soldiers in difficult circumstances in many communes and wards; and visit the Centers for Nurturing and Nursing People with Meritorious Services of the city and production and business units of wounded soldiers.
On this occasion, the City Veterans Association will directly visit 8 wounded soldiers in particularly difficult circumstances; and at the same time direct the Veterans Association of 126 communes and wards to organize the presentation of gifts to 252 members who are typical wounded soldiers and members in difficult circumstances in the area.
Closing the series of activities is the Candle Lighting ceremony to express gratitude to heroic martyrs held on the evening of July 26th at Mai Dich Cemetery.
In addition to the city-level point chaired by the Hanoi Youth Union, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards are encouraged to simultaneously organize candle lighting ceremonies at martyrs' cemeteries, memorials and steles commemorating martyrs in the area.
In parallel with organizing gratitude activities, the City Fatherland Front also requests to promote propaganda on digital platforms such as Websites, Fanpages, Zalo OA, the Capital Digital Front platform and mass media; promptly commend typical collectives and individuals, replicate good models and creative ways of doing things in the "Gratitude" movement, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions, fostering patriotism and the responsibility of today's generation for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
