Throughout the history of building and defending the country, our nation has many times overcome the most difficult moments thanks to the strength of the great national unity bloc. From the August Revolution in 1945, the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland to nearly 40 years of renovation, each victory of the country is associated with promoting the will of solidarity, the spirit of attachment and the strength of the people under the leadership of the Party.
The country enters a new stage of development with the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam, becoming a high-income developed country by 2045. The new context opens up many great opportunities, but also poses many difficulties and challenges. Strategic competition between major countries is increasingly fierce; digital transformation, digital economy, artificial intelligence are strongly changing social life; non-traditional security issues, climate change, population aging, wealth inequality and complex impacts from cyberspace are directly affecting ideology, mood and social consensus.
In that context, creatively applying Ho Chi Minh's ideology on great national unity is of particular importance, both a strategic requirement and a prerequisite to consolidate internal strength, creating a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development of the country.
The core thing in Ho Chi Minh's ideology on solidarity is to take the people as the root. He once advised: "In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people. In the world, nothing is stronger than the solidarity of the people". Solidarity cannot just stop at slogans or calls, but must be built with faith, with practical care for the lives of the people and with the responsibility of serving the people of the entire political system.
Therefore, in the current period, first of all, it is necessary to continue to consolidate the people's trust in the Party and the State. All guidelines and policies must truly originate from the legitimate interests of the people; taking the happiness and prosperity of the people as a goal to strive for. If the people want to trust, the Party must be close to the people, respect the people, listen to the people and be responsible to the people. Cadres and party members must truly set an example, match words with deeds, fight bureaucracy, alienate the people, and be indifferent to the difficulties and grievances of the people.
A very important requirement today is to build social consensus on a foundation of harmony of interests. In the context of a market economy and deep international integration, society is increasingly diverse in needs, interests and viewpoints. Therefore, it is even more necessary to promote socialist democracy, strengthen dialogue, listen, and respect different and correct opinions for the common benefit of the country. Unity does not mean unity, but knowing how to find common ground to jointly aim for a common goal: building a developed country, and people having a prosperous and happy life.
In addition, it is necessary to continue to promote the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in building the great national unity bloc. In the new period, the Front is not only a place to gather and mobilize the masses but must truly be a political union center, a solid bridge between the Party, the State and the people; promote the people's right to mastery; participate in supervision and social criticism; contribute to promptly resolving issues arising from the grassroots level, creating social consensus and consolidating people's trust.
In particular, the implementation of the new organizational model of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the spirit of streamlining, efficiency, effectiveness, and efficiency is not only a requirement to innovate the organizational structure, but also to improve the capacity to gather and promote the strength of great national unity in the new conditions. This is an important step for the Front and member organizations to better perform the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of the people.
In the current context of digital transformation, building the great national unity bloc also needs new methods. The cyberspace is both a widespread social connection environment and potentially poses a risk of spreading toxic information, inciting division, causing social distrust. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen propaganda and orient public opinion; promote civic responsibility in cyberspace; build a healthy and humane behavior culture; resolutely fight against distorted arguments that divide the great national unity bloc and oppose the Party's ideological foundation.
The great national unity in the current period is not only aimed at creating strength to overcome difficulties, but also to become a driving force for development. That is unity for innovation, to promote the intelligence and aspiration to contribute of each Vietnamese person; unity between social strata, between regions, between compatriots in the country and our compatriots abroad; unity between the Party's will and the people's hearts to create a combined strength to bring the country to develop quickly and sustainably.
The 14th Party Congress continued to emphasize the requirement to strongly promote the strength of the great national unity, self-reliance and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country. This is both an inheritance of Ho Chi Minh's thought and a strategic orientation of the times for the Vietnamese revolution in the new period.
Ho Chi Minh's ideology on "Solidarity, unity, great unity" will forever be a flag gathering national strength, a great source of spiritual motivation for the Vietnamese revolution. In any circumstances, unity is still the invincible strength of our nation. The more in the new development stage with many great requirements and tasks, the more it is necessary to promote the tradition of patriotism, self-reliance, the spirit of unity and joint efforts of the whole nation to realize the aspiration to build a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam.
