On May 20, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ia Nan commune (Gia Lai province) started construction of 3 Great Solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households in the commune.
At the ceremony, the organizing committee presented symbolic support boards to 3 households including Ms. Le Thi Xuan (born 1953, residing in Ia Boong village, Ia Nan commune), Ms. Ro Mah H'Vim (born 1977) and Mr. Ro Mah Dong (born 1968), both residing in Nu village, Ia Nan commune.
Among them, Ms. Le Thi Xuan is a former youth volunteer, belonging to a near-poor household, currently having to stay at her child's house after her husband passed away.
Ms. Ro Mah H'Vim's household is classified as a poor household, with 13 people from 3 generations living in a cramped, degraded house. Life mainly depends on the hired work of her daughter and son-in-law. Mr. Ro Mah Dong is also classified as a poor household, old and weak, living with his wife in a temporary house.
Accordingly, Mr. Ro Mah Dong's house was built with an area of about 44 m2, with a total cost of 120 million VND; of which Gia Hoang Import-Export Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Ho Chi Minh City) supported 100 million VND, and the locality countered an additional 20 million VND.
The remaining two houses have an area of about 36 m2/unit, supported by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province with 60 million VND/unit; the remaining funding will continue to be mobilized and called for support by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ia Nan commune to complete.
The houses are designed to include 1 living room and 2 bedrooms, ensuring basic living needs of households; expected to be completed and put into use in July 2026.
