Typhoon No. 4 enters mainland China in the next 48 hours

Forecast for the next 48 hours, storm No. 4 will move in a North-Northeast direction into the mainland of Guangxi province (China).

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 AM on August 25, the center of storm No. 4 was located at about 19.4 degrees North latitude - 108 degrees East longitude, over the sea area south-southeast of Bach Long Vi special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is strong at level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting at level 10. The storm moves in a South-Southeast direction at a speed of 5-10 km/h.

Rain in the North has decreased sharply; Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh mostly have no rain. Some places still have 40 - 70 mm of rain, concentrated in the Northwest, coastal Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

On August 25, the North is generally rainless; the coast from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh has rain of 20 - 40 mm, locally over 80 mm.

Regarding floods, in Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, river floods are receding; Cau River in Thai Nguyen has reached alarm level 1.

In Bac Ninh, floods on the Cau River, Thuong River and Luc Nam River are still at alarm level 3, forecast to decrease during the day.

In Song Buoi (Thanh Hoa), Kim Tan peaked on the morning of August 25 at 11.7m, 0.3m below alarm level 3, then slowed down.

The Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh) at Ben De is forecast to decrease by 3.1 m during the day, 0.1 m above alarm level 1.

Rivers in Nghe An, upstream floods are currently at alarm level 1, forecast to continue to rise but below alarm level 2, depending on reservoir regulation.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, the storm will move in a Northeast direction, at a speed of 5-10 km/h.

By 7:00 AM on August 26, the storm's center will be located at about 20.7 degrees North latitude - 109.5 degrees East longitude; in the area east of the Gulf of Tonkin, about 210km east-northeast of Bach Long Vi special zone. Wind intensity is strong at level 8, gusting at level 10.

Forecast for the next 48 hours, the storm will move in a North-Northeast direction, at a speed of about 10 km/h and gradually weaken into a tropical depression, then into a low pressure area.

By 7:00 AM on August 27, the center of the low pressure area will be located at about 22.9 degrees North latitude - 110.3 degrees East longitude; on land in Guangxi province (China). Wind intensity will decrease to below level 6.

Regarding the impact of the storm at sea, the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi special zone) has strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8, gusts of level 10, waves 2-4m high; strong rough seas.

Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds, and large waves.
