Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on September 8, the center of storm No. 7 was at about 22.8 degrees north latitude; 111.8 degrees east longitude, on the mainland southwest of Guangdong province (China). The strongest wind near the storm center is level 9-10 (75-102km/h), gusting to level 12. The storm is moving northwest at a speed of about 20km/h.
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, the storm will move west-northwest at a speed of 20-25km/h, gradually weakening into a tropical depression and then a low pressure area.
At 1:00 a.m. on September 9, the center of the low pressure area is forecast to be at about 23.5 degrees north latitude; 109.6 degrees east longitude, in the mainland of Guangxi province (China), with an intensity below level 6.
The dangerous area in the next 12 hours will be north of latitude 20.5 degrees north latitude and from 110.5 - 114 degrees east longitude. Natural disaster risk level 3, affecting the northwestern sea area of the northern East Sea.
Forecast of the impact of the storm at sea, the northwestern sea area of the northern East Sea will have strong winds of level 6 - 7, the area near the storm's eye will have strong winds of level 8 - 9, gusts of level1; waves 3 - 5m high, very rough seas.
Ship operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
The meteorological agency noted that although not directly affected by the storm's circulation, areas on the far edge of the storm's circulation such as the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northern region and the eastern coastal areas of the North may experience thunderstorms, whirlwinds and strong gusts of wind.
On the day and night of September 9, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 40 - 90mm, locally over 200mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 100mm within 3 hours.
On the day and night of September 10, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 30 - 60mm, locally over 100mm.
The total rainfall from September 9 to the night of September 10 in the mountainous and midland areas of the North will be generally 70 - 150mm, locally over 300mm.
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. The meteorological agency warns that the risk of natural disasters due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes.
