The meteorological agency warns that Lai Chau, Son La, Lao Cai and Quang Ninh have experienced heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places; there is a risk of flash floods and landslides in some communes and wards.

Updated bulletin issued at 1:50 PM from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 24 hours (from 1:00 PM on July 4th to 1:00 PM on July 5th), the area of Lai Chau, Son La, Lao Cai and Quang Ninh provinces, there have been moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places such as Phu Nam Sap observation station 138.6 mm, Binh Lu 3 110.4 mm (Lai Chau); Nam Pam 284 mm, Nam Pam 164.8 mm (Son La); De Xu Phinh 159 mm, Kim Noi 1 155.2 mm (Lao Cai); Mong Cai 325.4 mm, Doan Tinh 182.8 mm (Quang Ninh);...

The soil moisture model shows that some areas in the above provinces are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a state of saturation.

Warning in the next 3-6 hours, the above provinces will continue to have rain with accumulated rainfall commonly in Lai Chau, Lao Cai from 20 - 40mm, in some places over 70mm; Quang Ninh, Son La from 10 - 20mm, in some places over 50mm.

Warning in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes in many communes/wards.
