According to the bulletin issued at 10:10 am on January 21 from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, through monitoring satellite images, lightning positioning data and weather radar images, it shows that the convection cloud area is developing in the areas of wards/communes: Ung Thien, Hoa Phu, Thanh Oai, Quang Bi, Binh Minh, Tam Hung, Phu Nghia belonging to Hanoi city. This cloud area tends to expand towards the inner city area of the city.
The meteorological agency warns that in the period from now until the next 3 hours, Chuong My, Yen Nghia, Phu Luong, Kien Hung wards will have showers and possibly thunderstorms, then the analysis cloud area above tends to spread to other wards of inner Hanoi city. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also said that Hanoi is affected by the cold air mass.
Hanoi area will have rain on January 21st day and night; from January 21st to around January 23rd, it will be very cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air wave is commonly 11 - 14 degrees Celsius.
The Northern region from January 21 to around January 23, it will be very cold, with severe cold in some mountainous areas.
The lowest temperature in this cold air wave in the North is commonly 11-14 degrees Celsius, mountainous areas 8-11 degrees Celsius, high mountainous areas in some places below 6 degrees Celsius; in the North Central region commonly 13-16 degrees Celsius.
