In the face of complicated heavy rain in the Central region, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting - warned that many provinces and cities will continue to have heavy rain in the coming days.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, due to the influence of cold air combined with disturbances in the winter wind zone, many places in the Central region will continue to have heavy rain, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
The area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang City, east of Quang Ngai from November 1 to 4, will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 300 - 600mm, locally over 900mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 200mm within 3 hours.
The southern area of Nghe An, western Quang Ngai, eastern Gia Lai will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 100 - 300mm, locally over 450mm.
"From November 5, heavy rain in the Central region will tend to decrease" - Mr. Nguyen Van Huong added.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, industrial parks; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes.
There is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of provinces from Ha Tinh to Gia Lai. Especially in the provinces/cities: Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue City, Da Nang City.
Flash floods and landslides can have a very negative impact on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
