The Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has just issued a forest planting plan for 2025 with a total expected area of 1,709 hectares, concentrated in Tuy Duc, Dak Glong and Dak Song districts. Of which, Tuy Duc district is assigned to plant more than 345 hectares of forest.
Tuy Duc District People's Committee has proactively implemented the plan, allocated specific targets to each commune and forest owner unit, and closely monitored the implementation progress.
Mr. Tran Vinh Phu - Vice Chairman of Tuy Duc District People's Committee - said that the units have actively prepared the scene and selected tree varieties suitable for soil conditions.
In other localities such as Dak Glong district, forest planting is also being implemented to ensure a high rate of live trees and aim to increase the forest coverage rate of the whole province to over 40% in 2025.
Not only aiming to increase forest area, Dak Nong province also aims to develop forests in a sustainable direction. Thereby, contributing to protecting the ecological environment, responding to climate change and effectively exploiting the economy from forests.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Le Trong Yen requested that units assigned to implement the 2025 forest planting plan must seriously implement it on schedule, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Districts assigned targets also need to closely coordinate with forest development units, while completely resolving the situation of encroachment on forest land (if any). Monitoring, checking and urging the implementation progress must be maintained regularly.
To achieve the set goals, Dak Nong province will continue to mobilize many resources from the State budget, socialized capital and the active participation of people and businesses.
In addition, propaganda work to raise awareness of forest fire protection, prevention and sustainable forest use will also be promoted.
Mr. Le Trong Yen assessed that in recent times, forest management and protection in many localities have had positive changes, thanks to the drastic participation of all levels and sectors.
From 2021 to 2024, Dak Nong province has developed more than 9,237 hectares of forest.
Of which, the area of concentrated planted forests reached over 3,747 hectares, the combined agricultural - forestry model reached 1,838 hectares, planted 556 hectares of scattered trees and enclosed and propagated forest regeneration reached over 3,095 hectares.
