In the evening and night of July 22, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10 - 30mm, locally heavy rain over 80mm.
From about the night of July 23 to July 25, the Northern region will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 70 - 150mm, locally very heavy rain over 250mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 100mm within 3 hours. The focus of rain is Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La provinces need to be wary of the risk of flash floods and landslides.
In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail is level 1.
Rainstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works, and infrastructure. Heavy rain and localized heavy rain are likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas.
