According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, there is currently Typhoon Bebinca active in the Northwest Pacific. However, it is forecast to make landfall in eastern China, not affecting Vietnam.
There is currently a tropical convergence zone combined with strong southwest monsoon in the East Sea.
The Central Highlands and the South are affected by the above mentioned patterns, so there will be rain until September 18, 2024. The average rainfall is 40 - 80mm. Rainfall is concentrated in the afternoon and at night. This type of rain does not have a big impact on the North.
The Northern region will have little rain in the next 7 days, with intermittent sunny days. Particularly, from the night of September 15 to September 17, there will be moderate rain. Rainfall is generally 10 - 30mm/day, with some areas having heavy rain over 50mm/day. The focus will be on Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces.
Regarding dangerous weather at sea, from now until the end of September, there is a possibility of 1-2 storms appearing in the East Sea (likely concentrated in the last 10 days of September) and may affect the Northern and North Central regions.
Assessing natural disasters from now until the end of 2024, the meteorological agency warned of a high risk of heavy rain and floods in the Central region during the flood season in October - November 2024.
