The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a weather trend forecast for the next month (from March 11 to April 10).
The average temperature in the Northern region and from Thanh Hoa to Hue is generally 0.5 - 1 degree Celsius lower than the average of many years in the same period. In other places, the temperature is generally at approximately the same level as the average of many years.
The cold air in March 2025 is likely to be more active than the average of many years. However, the center of the continental cold high pressure tends to shift east, causing many days of light rain, drizzle and fog for the Northeast and North Central regions. These conditions will affect people's daily activities as well as people's transportation.
By April 2025, the cold air tends to weaken.
During the forecast period, cold air is likely to cause strong winds, large waves, affecting fishermen's maritime activities and fishing at sea.
Hot weather in March 2025 continues to appear in the Southern region (concentrated in the Eastern provinces) and appears locally in the Northwest, North Central, and Central Highlands. In April 2025, the heat tends to increase in the regions.
Total rainfall across the country is generally 15 - 25mm lower than the average of many years; in the South and some places in the Central Central region, it is 10 - 20mm higher than the average of many years in the same period, in some places higher.
During the forecast period, the Central region is likely to experience some days of showers and thunderstorms. The Central Highlands and the South may experience unseasonal thunderstorms.
The meteorological agency warns that it is necessary to be on guard against the possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind accompanying thunderstorms.
