The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a weather trend forecast for April 2025.
Regarding temperature trends, the average temperature in the North is generally at a level close to the average of many years. The area from Da Nang to Binh Thuan, the Central Highlands and the South has an average temperature generally 0.5 - 1 degree Celsius higher than the average of many years.
The temperature in the Thanh Hoa to Hue area is generally lower than the average of many years in the same period of about 0.5 - 1 degree Celsius.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hoa - Deputy Head of the Climate Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting - said that in the first 10 days of April, cold air is likely to be more active than the average of many years, after which the cold air tends to weaken.
Cold air is likely to cause strong winds and large waves, affecting fishermen's maritime activities and fishing at sea.
Previously, in March, there were 3 cold air waves on March 5, March 15 and March 29, causing 3 severe cold spells in the Northern region.
The cold spells were mainly concentrated in mountainous provinces; on March 30 alone, they caused widespread cold in the North, with the lowest temperature in some places dropping below 10 degrees Celsius such as: Dong Van (Ha Giang) 8.7 degrees Celsius, Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc) 8.8 degrees Celsius, Mau Son (Lang Son) 4 degrees Celsius...
"In mid- and late April, the hot weather tends to get stronger in the Northwest and Central regions; beware of severe heat. Hot weather also continues to appear widely in the Southeast region and tends to increase in the Central Highlands and the Southwest region" - Mr. Hoa said.
Previously, the recent period in the Northwest, Central Highlands and South regions has seen localized heat waves, especially in the Southeast provinces, there was a widespread heat wave from March 11 to 15 with the highest temperature of the day generally 35 - 37 degrees Celsius, some places higher.
Regarding the trend of rain, the total rainfall across the country in April is 5 - 15mm lower than the average for many years; Particularly in some places in the mountains and midlands of the North, South Central Highlands and the Southeast, there are places 10 - 30mm higher than the average of the same period.
"In April, which is the changing seasons, there is a possibility of many thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and hail nationwide" - Mr. Hoa warned.
