According to data from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, last night and today (October 14), the northern mountainous areas of the North and South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain.

The mountainous areas of the Northwest and Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Bac Can, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, the Central Central region, and the South will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain. Rainfall will range from 10 - 30mm, with some places experiencing over 70mm.
In the area from Ha Tinh to Binh Thuan, the Central Highlands and the South, on the afternoon and night of October 15, there is forecast to be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20 - 40mm. In the Central Highlands and the South, some places will have over 70mm, and in the area from Ha Tinh to Binh Thuan, some places will have over 100mm.
The Meteorological Agency warns that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
Regarding the hydrographic situation, currently, the water level on the eastern coast of the South has been increasing with the high tide. The highest water level observed at Vung Tau station is 397cm (at 23:45 on October 13).
Coastal areas from Vung Tau to Ca Mau are likely to experience high tides. From the evening of October 14 to October 15, the water level will be around 395 - 405cm. The time is around 0:00 - 4:00 and 12 - 16:00. Low-lying areas and areas outside the dike are likely to be flooded due to high tides.
