This evening (January 19), the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense held a meeting with news agencies and the press to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
Attending and chairing the meeting were General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Ministers of National Defense, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics, the General Staff; Leaders of press agencies.
Speaking at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - reviewed the history of Vietnamese revolutionary press in general and military press in particular.
"For us, war is guns, bullets, and the destruction of the enemy. Comrades with cameras, cameras, pencils, and trees also volunteered to take action forward..." - General Phan Van Giang emphasized and praised the role of "special nation" - the press in the resistance wars of the nation and in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

According to General Phan Van Giang, press agencies have published and published many articles reflecting the contributions of military cadres, soldiers, militia and self-defense forces participating in the training and practice of parading and parade at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification...
This directly contributes to promoting, protecting and enhancing the image, reputation and position of the Army, spreading the qualities, values and good traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
General Phan Van Giang mentioned the image of the Vietnamese Army participating in the parade for the first time on Red Square in Russia, the soldiers singing the song Kachiusa, or the army of the host country singing "Nhu co on day of great victory" when participating in the parade on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification in Ho Chi Minh City. These emotional images have been vividly conveyed by the press.
The country is preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day on September 2. This also marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
Minister Phan Van Giang said that he will invite some countries to participate in the parade, although the number is not large, it will be a mark affirming that Vietnam is a country that is respected and admired by friends around the world.
In addition, Minister Phan Van Giang said that for the first time, there will be forces at sea participating in the parade, including: Navy, Coast Guard, Fisheries Control, ...

General Phan Van Giang hopes that the press will continue to convey the message "Vietnam will consistently follow its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance and a "four no's" defense policy, build a modern army to protect people's lives and the territorial integrity" so that domestic people and friends who love peace in the world can better understand.
Defense economic groups focus on political tasks to work with the people to protect borders, boundaries and territorial integrity. In the defense industry, special attention is paid to the policy of "self-reliance, self-reliance, self-reliance, dual use and modernity" to build a lean, compact and strong Army.
Also at the meeting, General Phan Van Giang and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense presented Certificates of Merit of the Minister of National Defense to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in press propaganda work on the military, defense and people's army tasks of Vietnam in the period of 2020-2025. Lao Dong Newspaper is one of the honorable agencies to receive a Certificate of Merit on this occasion.
