According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the northeast monsoon continues to impact and cause unfavorable weather in many sea areas.
Currently, the Gulf of Tonkin has strong northeast winds at level 6, gusting at level 7; Ly Son special zone has strong northeast winds at level 6; Truong Sa and Phu Quy special zones have gusts at level 7.
On January 3rd, day and night, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) will have strong northeast winds of level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9, strong sea waves, waves 4-6 m high.
The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau, the area between the East Sea and the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of the Truong Sa special zone) has strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9, strong sea waves, waves 4-6 m high.
The sea area from South Quang Tri to Dak Lak and the sea area east of the South East Sea (including the sea area east of the Truong Sa zone) have strong northeast winds at level 6, gusts at level 7 - 8, rough seas, waves 3-5 m high.
In addition, on January 3rd, day and night, the central and southern areas of the East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
On January 4th, day and night, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) will have strong northeast winds of level 6, especially in the east at times level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9, strong sea waves, waves 3-5 m high.
The central area of the East Sea has strong northeast winds at level 6, gusting at level 7, rough seas, waves 3-5 m high; the sea area from Dak Lak to Ca Mau and the sea area west of the South East Sea (including the sea area west of the Truong Sa special zone) has strong northeast winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting at level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-5 m high.
The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves.
