On January 4th, day and night, the Northern region has the lowest temperature commonly 13 - 16 degrees C, mountainous areas 10 - 13 degrees C, high mountainous areas in some places below 10 degrees C. Average temperature 17 - 19 degrees C, mountainous areas 14 - 16 degrees C.
North Central Coast has the lowest temperature of 15 - 18 degrees C, the average temperature of 18 - 20 degrees C.
The Hanoi area is cold, the lowest temperature is commonly from 13 - 15 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of cold air, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have rain, scattered showers. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, stone rain and strong gusts of wind.
Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides on slopes; heavy rain in a short time causes flooding in urban areas and industrial parks.
