Updated from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 13:00 on January 18, the center of Typhoon Nokaen was located at about 15 degrees north latitude - 125.1 degrees east longitude, intensity level 8, gusts level 10.
Forecast for the next 24 hours, Typhoon Nokaen will move in a north-northeast direction at a speed of about 5 - 10 km/h. After that, the typhoon will move slowly, mainly in an east direction and is highly likely to dissipate in the eastern sea of the Philippines around January 21 - 22.
Regarding the weather in the East Sea, currently, the northeast sea area of the North East Sea has strong northeast winds at level 6, sometimes level 7.
On the night of January 18 and January 19, the sea area east of the Northern East Sea area will have strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9. The sea will be rough, with wave heights commonly from 2 - 4 m.
On the night of January 19 and January 20, the sea area east of the Northern East Sea area will have strong northeast winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting at level 8 - 9; from the evening of January 20, the Northern East Sea area will have gradually stronger northeast winds at level 6, gusting at level 8; waves 3 - 5 m high, strong sea waves.
The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves.
From January 21, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the northeast wind will gradually strengthen to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, waves 2-3 m high, rough seas. From the evening of January 21, the area from Nam Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa and the central East Sea area will have northeast wind gradually strengthening to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, waves 2-5 m high, rough seas.
From January 22, the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau, the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of the Truong Sa special zone) will gradually strengthen to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts level 8 - 9, waves 3 - 5 m high, strong sea waves.
