In the evening and night of March 22, it is forecast that the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall from 10 - 20mm, locally heavy rain with rainfall over 50mm.
The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms are likely to occur with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
From March 23, the Northern region will have rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered, sunny in the afternoon. Especially in the period of March 27-28, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.
Regarding the rain trend from now until the end of April, the total rainfall in the Northern region is generally at a level close to the multi-year average; in the Central and Southern regions, the total rainfall is generally 10-30mm lower than the multi-year average of the same period.
Around most of the country, there is a possibility of widespread rain, with rain concentrated more in the Northern mountainous region.
Other phenomena such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind are likely to appear nationwide, concentrated more in the Northern region.
