On March 22, some workers were repairing the expansion joint at Ham Nghi bridge on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway in Ha Huy Tap ward, Ha Tinh province.
The repair is carried out in lane No. 2 (lane near the corrugated iron guardrail) in both directions of movement. During this repair process, vehicles passing through must slow down and take the remaining lane.

Mr. Ngo Sy Nguyen - Deputy Head of Road Management Office II. 3 (Road Management Zone II - Vietnam Road Administration) - said that the repair of the expansion joint on Ham Nghi bridge on the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway is carried out by Corporation 319 - Ministry of National Defense.
This route section was previously constructed by this contractor and is still under warranty.
Before deploying repairs, Road Management Office II. 3 requires the construction unit to fully implement measures to ensure traffic safety.
A technical officer of Corporation 319 - Ministry of National Defense said that the repair of the expansion joint on Ham Nghi bridge has been implemented for nearly 1 week. The reason is that the concrete part in the expansion joint has been damaged, forcing it to be chiseled and replaced with a new concrete layer.
Also according to this official, the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway is 35.28km long, and will be opened to traffic on April 30, 2025. After a period of operation, there is a lot of traffic, leading to damage to the concrete part in the expansion joint.
The repair of damage to the expansion joint of Ham Nghi bridge is expected to be completed in the next few days.

The Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway section has its starting point at Km 479+117 with the National Highway 8 intersection in Duc Quang commune, connecting to the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway and its ending point at Km 514+441 in Thach Xuan commune, continuing with the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway.
