Khanh Hoa area has heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100 - 250mm, locally over 400mm.
Ha Tinh and Quang Tri will have moderate rain, heavy rain with common rainfall of 80-150mm, locally very heavy rain over 250mm.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the characteristic of this heavy rain is the area of heavy rain with fluctuations. From November 15 to tomorrow, November 18, the rain will extend from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai, the eastern area of Gia Lai province, Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa area.

"However, from November 19, the rain in the provinces from Hue will tend to decrease, while the rain will tend to widen to the south.
The rain is not concentrated in one area, so although the cold air of this period is much stronger than at the end of October, the possibility of especially heavy rain or record rain like the rain in the last days of October is not high" - Mr. Huong said.
On November 19, Da Nang area, east of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa provinces will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 50 - 100mm, locally over 200mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 200mm within 3 hours.
On the night of November 19 and November 20, Da Nang area, east of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa provinces will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 70 - 150mm, locally over 250mm.
There is a possibility of flooding on rivers from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa
The warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1, especially in the area from Hue to Da Nang, the east of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak is level 2.
Mr. Nguyen Van Huong warned that this heavy rain will spread across most of the Central provinces and cities, so many rivers in the Central region will also be affected. It is forecasted that from today until November 20, there is a possibility of a flood on the rivers from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa.
During this flood, the peak flood in Hue city, Da Nang city; Quang Ngai; Kon river, upstream of Ba river (Gia Lai), downstream of Ba river, Ky Lo river (Dak Lak), Dinh Ninh Hoa river (Khanh Hoa) may increase to alert level 2 - alert level 3, some rivers above alert level 3; Ha Tinh river, Quang Tri river, rivers in Gia Lai, rivers in Dak Lak, rivers in Khanh Hoa are likely to increase to alert level 1 - alert level 2 and above alert level 2.
"In addition to rising flood waters on rivers, during this heavy rain, we note that in addition to areas with heavy rain, risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides in the area from Ha Tinh to the east of Quang Ngai province, we need to pay attention to Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa area as well as the east of Lam Dong province, which are also areas that need to pay special attention to the risk of flash floods and landslides because these areas will have long-term rain" - Mr. Huong provided information.
