Oceanographic situation assessment
From October 13 to 18, in the North East Sea, waves ranged from 2 to 3 meters, with rough seas. In the sea area from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan, from October 12 to 15, waves ranged from 1.5 to 2.5 meters, then gradually decreased, generally ranging from 1 to 2 meters. In other areas, waves were generally less than 2 meters.
Warning of high tides and big waves from October 17 to October 22, the tide level along the Southeast coast remains high. High tides occurring in the early morning and late afternoon increase the risk of flooding in low-lying coastal areas, riverbanks, and areas outside the dykes in the Southeast and slow down the flood drainage process, in case of flooding on the Mekong River.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that next week, there is little possibility of a tropical cyclone appearing in the East Sea.
