On April 21, Mr. Vo Tan Cong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Mron commune ( Ia Pa district, Gia Lai province), signed a document requesting the People's Committee of the commune and departments and organizations in the area to urgently deploy measures to protect the rare snail herd that is migrating through the area.
Recently, hundreds of snails - a rare bird species recorded in the Vietnam Red Book - have appeared in the fields of Ia Mron commune to make a living. The herd of storks gathered in large quantities, causing public concern about the risk of illegal hunting.
Facing the above situation, the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee of MRON proposed the Commune People's Committee to direct the functional forces to organize patrol, control and ensure safety for the storks. At the same time, notifying people about rare animal hunting is a violation of the law and may be criminally handled.

Local authorities are also required to step up propaganda and mobilization work to prevent people from hunting for snails and other wild animals. In particular, local Party members need to be exemplary in complying with and propagating legal policies on wildlife protection.
snails, also known as snails, are a bird in the hay family, with white gray fur and shiny black wings, weighing about 1 - 1.2 kg. They live in large flocks, migrating seasonally and mainly eat snails, crabs, frog and small fish.
In the world, snails are distributed mainly in South Asia and Southeast Asia. In Vietnam, this bird species often appears in the Mekong Delta provinces. The appearance of a large herd of snails in Gia Lai is a rare phenomenon and needs to be strictly protected.
