According to the reporter's records, in the early morning of August 26, Hanoi had widespread heavy rain, causing many areas to be deeply flooded, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Traffic police were present to direct traffic, while workers at the tree company were urgently sawing trees to clear the road.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper on the morning of August 26, Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep - Deputy Director of the Northern Hydrometeorological Station - said that heavy rain in Hanoi will continue today and tonight due to the impact of the tropical depression weakening from storm No. 5 (Kajiki).

Accordingly, in the next 12 to 24 hours, Hanoi will have moderate rain, heavy rain, some places with very heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, it is necessary to be on guard against the risk of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
"The rainfall in the northern area of the city is generally 50 - 100mm, in some places over 150mm. The western, southern and central areas of the city are generally 40 - 70mm, some places over 100mm" - Mr. Hiep provided detailed information.
Regarding the impact of heavy rain, meteorological experts warn that thunderstorms may be accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind that will break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
"Heavy rain overloads the urban drainage system, causing flooding in residential areas, urban areas and low-lying areas, traffic congestion due to flooding of roads and reduced visibility when driving, causing slippery and traffic accidents" - Mr. Hiep especially emphasized.
The meteorological agency also noted that heavy rain in a short period of time can cause landslides in mountainous areas with steep terrain. The risk level of natural disasters due to heavy rain is determined at level 1.
