On the afternoon of June 14, Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Deputy Director of Da Lat Urban Services Joint Stock Company - said that the unit has mobilized manpower and vehicles to urgently collect the amount of garbage accumulated in the wards of Da Lat area.

According to Mr. Duc, after nearly 3 days of not being collected and transported, it is estimated that more than 800 tons of domestic waste is congested in 5 wards in the area.
Forces are urgently collecting garbage on roads, residential areas, public places, tourist areas and garbage collection locations.

The unit has mobilized more than 30 vehicles of all kinds, including specialized garbage trucks and dump trucks, and more than 200 workers to focus on collecting and transporting stagnant garbage," Mr. Duc said.

However, from about 3 pm on the same day, prolonged heavy rain in Da Lat significantly affected the progress of waste collection and transportation.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected on the situation of many garbage collection points in Da Lat area being overloaded after nearly 3 days of the Da Lat Solid Waste Treatment Plant stopping operation.
Domestic waste from households, markets, restaurants, and hotels continuously arises but is not transported and treated, leading to piles and spilling onto sidewalks and roads.

Many types of organic waste begin to decompose, leak water, and emit a strong stench in hot weather interspersed with early rain, affecting people's lives and tourism activities.
According to research, the cause stemmed from the Da Lat Solid Waste Treatment Plant under Green Energy Environment Co., Ltd. temporarily stopping receiving and treating waste from 6 pm on June 12.
The temporary suspension of operations due to restrictions on transactions on accounts according to documents of the judgment enforcement agency, makes it impossible for the company to pay operating costs, purchase fuel and maintain the operation of the plant.
