Many taluy locations are at high risk of landslides
Information from the leaders of the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province said that the unit is coordinating with relevant agencies to inspect and assess many landslide-prone points on National Highway 28B to implement solutions to handle and ensure traffic safety during the rainy season.

After being invested in upgrading and expanding, National Highway 28B has become an important traffic route connecting Lam Dong with the South Central Coast region, contributing to shortening travel time and creating favorable conditions for socio-economic and tourism development.
However, the first rains of the season have revealed many potential safety risk points on the route. Some areas of positive and negative slopes have experienced landslides, rolling rocks, and soil and rocks overflowing onto the road surface, affecting vehicle traffic.

Notably, after being lowered in height and adjusted, many sharp curves in the Dai Ninh pass area have been widened, making traffic more convenient. However, the section from Km31 to Km52 still poses a risk of landslides when heavy rain lasts.
At Km31, many embankments on both sides of the road still reveal large blocks of rock after construction. When heavy rain occurs, the risk of rocks falling onto the road surface is present, threatening the safety of vehicles traveling.
Regularly traveling through this area, Mr. Dinh Van Hai (Ninh Hai village, Ta Hine commune) said that the early rains of the season caused soil and rocks from the taluy to spill onto the road surface.

Taluy is quite steep, many large open boulders can roll down at any time when it rains heavily. We hope functional agencies will soon inspect and handle it to ensure safety," Mr. Hai proposed.
Urgently handle and overcome
According to Phan Son Commune People's Committee, the locality has coordinated with the Department of Construction and the Central Road Project Management Board to inspect the actual locations at risk of landslides, and at the same time proposed that the investor soon implement remedial measures.

If not handled promptly, the risk of landslides will increase during the rainy and storm season, directly affecting traffic safety," said Mr. Mai Hong Dang - Chairman of Phan Son Commune People's Committee.
Survey results show that along Dai Ninh Pass there are currently 12 locations with potential landslide risks when prolonged heavy rains occur. Among them, many points are positive taluy slopes that have just been adjusted but have not fully completed reinforcement and drainage items.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang - Project Management Director of Construction Package 2, Central Road Project Management Board - said that the Vietnam Road Administration and the unit have agreed to implement technical solutions such as taluy roof training, construction of stone shield walls and completion of drainage systems to reduce the risk of landslides.
Currently, we are focusing on constructing 12 locations with high landslide risk, the section from Km42 to Km52 with a total length of about 1km. The items are expected to be completed on June 30, 2026," Mr. Sang informed.
According to the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Construction, the progress of the National Highway 28B upgrade project is still slow compared to the requirements.
The unit has requested the investor to urgently mobilize manpower and vehicles to accelerate the construction progress in the context that the rainy season has begun and the risk of landslides is increasing.

Currently, functional agencies warn that the risk of landslides on the route is still complicated, which may cause traffic congestion if not handled promptly.
National Highway 28B is an important traffic route connecting Lam Dong with the South Central Coast region.
Early overcoming landslide points not only ensures traffic safety but also contributes to promoting investment efficiency and promoting socio-economic development in the region.
