On the morning of January 3rd, Mr. Huynh Thanh Quoc Viet - Chairman of Phuoc Hoi Ward People's Committee (Lam Dong province) said that functional forces are still searching for 1 missing crew member due to a fishing boat sinking at the gate of La Gi port.
The distressed fishing boat is numbered BTh 85945 Ts, with a capacity of 220Cv, 15m long, including 4 workers, engaged in drift net fishing.
On the evening of January 2, when this fishing boat entered La Gi port after a sea trip, it was sunk by large waves and drifted into the embankment.
3 crew members jumped out of the fishing boat and swam ashore safely. Another crew member, T.D.T (born in 2010, residing in La Gi ward), is missing. The La Gi port entrance area has winds of level 6-7, waves about 1.5m high.
Immediately after the incident occurred, Phuoc Loc Border Guard Station (Command Board of Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard) sent 10 officers and soldiers and coordinated with functional forces and vehicles to support the search for the victim.
By the morning of January 3rd, the search for the missing crew member continued.
