On December 19, Mr. Vo Duc Dien - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Tung commune (Quang Tri province) said that the authorities and local people are searching for a fisherman suspected of being missing at sea.
Earlier, at around 6:30 a.m.the same day, people discovered a fishing boat drifting ashore at Trung Giang community beach, Cua Tung commune.
At the time of discovery, there was no one on the boat.Through inspection, the fishing boat was under 6m long and about 1.8m wide, the machinery and fishing gear were still intact.
After receiving the news, the authorities coordinated with local people to bring the boat ashore to ensure safety.
Initial verification shows that the ship owner is Mr. H.N.C.(born in 1982, residing in An Hoa 2 village, Cua Tung commune).That same morning, Mr. C.went to sea alone and has not returned until now, suspected of being missing.
Currently, militia forces, commune police, people and Border Guard are coordinating to expand the search area, urgently searching for the whereabouts of fishermen suspected of being missing.
