According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on September 26, the Northeast region will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms; the area from Nghe An to Da Nang and the Central Highlands will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
Rainfall from 7am to 3pm on September 26 was measured by monitoring stations over 90mm such as Quang Ha station (Quang Ninh) 106mm, Truong Thuy station (Quang Tri) 122.4mm, An Trung station (Gia Lai) 92.4mm.
In the evening and night of September 26, the Northwest region, from Nghe An to Lam Dong and the South, will have scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 100mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
From the evening of September 26 to the morning of September 27, the Northeast, Phu Tho and Thanh Hoa regions will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 30-60mm, locally very heavy rain up to 120mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain over 100mm/3 hours.
From the afternoon of September 27, heavy rain in the North and North Central regions will gradually decrease.
From September 28 to 30, the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue are likely to experience a widespread heavy rain with a total rainfall of 100 - 300mm, locally over 400mm. In the Northern Delta and from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, the common area is 200 - 400mm, locally over 600mm.
The warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, industrial parks; cause flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes.
