On the morning of April 26, a fishing boat of fishermen in Phu Quy Special Zone during offshore fishing discovered 2 sea turtles caught in a waste net.
Accordingly, during the angling process, a waste net got caught in the fishing hook of the fisherman. The fisherman pulled the net close to the fishing boat to remove it and discovered that in the waste net there were 2 sea turtles caught in the net.

Fishermen cut nets and rescued sea turtles. Through inspection, 2 sea turtles were healthy.
The sea turtle individual above is identified as belonging to the Vích family (scientific name Chelonia mydas), on the list of endangered, precious and rare species that need to be prioritized for protection and conservation. Fishermen have released 2 turtle individuals back to the sea.

The rescue and release of turtles back to natural waters demonstrates the responsibility of fishermen in protecting rare marine life; contributing to spreading awareness of preserving marine ecosystems in Phu Quy Special Zone.
