On April 14, Phu Yen Ward Police (Dak Lak province) said that the unit had just coordinated to organize propaganda on preventing and combating illegal (IUU) fishing for fishermen in the area.
Phu Yen Ward is a locality with a large number of ships and boats operating to exploit and catch seafood, with a total of 268 vehicles operating regularly.
Implementing the direction of the Provincial Police and the Ward People's Committee on IUU, in the past time, the Ward Police have proactively and synchronously implemented many solutions, contributing to raising awareness and law compliance of fishermen.

The content of propaganda focuses on disseminating legal regulations on seafood exploitation; prohibited acts in IUU activities; consequences, sanctions for violations, especially acts of encroaching on foreign waters.
In addition, the ward police focused on mobilizing ship owners, captains and fishermen to sign commitments not to violate regulations on IUU fishing; strictly implement regulations on registration and inspection of fishing vessels; install and maintain the operation of vessel monitoring devices (VMS).
Fully comply with regulations on recording fishing logs and reporting output according to regulations. At the same time, propagate and mobilize people to actively provide information related to violations in fishing.
Leaders of Phu Yen Ward Police informed that the unit will continue to strengthen grasping the situation, managing the area; coordinate with functional forces to closely monitor and supervise fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions for operating and exploiting.
At the same time, organize patrols at level wharves, traditional wharves and spontaneous points along the coast to promptly detect and handle IUU violations; proactively and strictly control the operation of fishing vessels in the area.
