On the morning of October 18, fishermen in Mui Ne ward (Lam Dong province) completed the procedures to bury a turtle about 50 years old that had drifted ashore.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 17, local fishermen were fishing when they suddenly encountered a turtle carcass drifting into Mui Ne's Bai Sau area.

The turtle has gray brown feathers and has wounds on her face. Discovering the incident, the fishermen reported it to the Ba Vang Fishing Port Management Board to bring the turtle to shore and bring it back to the fishing port.
After that, the Ceremonial Board of the festival performed solemn rituals according to local customs to bury the turtle.
According to an employee of Hon Cau Marine Reserve, based on the characteristics, it can be determined that this turtle belongs to the genus of Vich, the scientific name is Chelonia Mydas. This turtle species often goes to Hon Cau marine reserve, Phu Quy special zone... to lay eggs.

According to local fishermen, the turtle was about 50 years old and weighed more than 100kg.
In folk beliefs, sea turtles are considered "Ba" - a protective mascot for fishermen, bringing peace and luck, and a harmonious sea season.
