On March 23, Mr. Huynh Thanh Quoc Viet, Chairman of Phuoc Hoi Ward People's Committee (Lam Dong province) said that the construction unit had brought ships to conduct dredging tests and clear the channel of La Gi port entrance.
Previously, the siltation at La Gi port was prolonged, causing danger to fishing boats entering and leaving; many vehicles were stranded, even shipwrecks occurred, and there were cases of crew members dying. Although the project has been approved, the construction progress is still slow.

The construction unit once brought sand dredging ships that did not meet the conditions into the port; some ships sank, some ships were not allowed to operate by functional agencies.
At the beginning of February 2026, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai signed a decision to adjust the dredging and channel clearance project at La Gi port.

According to the plan, the construction must be completed before March 31, 2026; from March 31 to June 30, the items will be accepted and completed.
In recent days, dredging vessels have been present, conducting sedimentation sand dredging tests, initially creating positive signals and improving the channel.
Local fishermen expressed excitement when the project was restarted. They expressed their expectation that the project will be completed soon so that fishing boats can enter and exit conveniently, reducing the risk of stranding and accidents in this area.
