On the morning of February 3rd, Mr. Huynh Thanh Quoc Viet - Chairman of Phuoc Hoi Ward People's Committee (Lam Dong province) confirmed that another fishing boat sinking occurred at La Gi Port while en route to sea.
Fishing vessel numbered BTh 96383TS, capacity 200Cv, with 15 divers on board.

The fishing boat is owned and captained by Mr. T.T (born 1972, residing in Tien Thanh ward). The boat departed at 5:20 am on the same day at La Gi Port. About 25 minutes later, as soon as it reached the port gate, the fishing boat was sunk by big waves.
Faced with the dangerous situation, all 15 crew members promptly jumped off the ship. Thanks to the support of vehicles operating near the area, the crew members were quickly rescued and brought ashore safely.
The incident did not record any casualties, but the fishing boat sinking caused great property damage.
Notably, just two days ago, on the morning of February 1st, another fishing boat also sank while moving through La Gi Port. The incident killed the captain, causing concern in the local fishing community about the safety level in the port area.

According to records, the siltation of channels at La Gi Port has been going on for a long time but has not been thoroughly handled. Observing with the naked eye, the sandy alluvial ground has covered nearly 2/3 of the port's width, causing the inflow and outflow to narrow significantly.
Fishing boats when entering and leaving the port are forced to run close to the stone embankment or hire tugboats to ensure safety.
In fact, in the past time, there have been many shipwrecks, even crew members have died, causing heavy damage to fishermen.
