On the afternoon of January 29, Cat Tien National Park (NP) said that the unit had just received a wild cat individual discovered by people while producing in the garden and voluntarily handed it over. This wild cat individual weighed nearly 3kg.

Through inspection, experts determined that this is a rare forest cat species, belonging to group IIB in the Vietnam Red Book - a group of endangered animals that need to be protected.
At the time of reception, the wild cat individual had some injuries on its body. The Wildlife Rescue Center has isolated, monitored and applied care procedures to restore health.

After the situation stabilizes and meets living conditions, the wild cat individual will be released back to its natural habitat in accordance with regulations.
Representatives of Cat Tien National Park said that people's proactive handover of rare and precious wild animals shows awareness of law compliance and increasing awareness in wildlife protection.
Cat Tien National Park has an area of nearly 72,000ha, located in Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces. Cat Tien National Park is recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve with more than 1,700 animal species and about 1,600 plant species, including many rare species.
