For more than a month, a wild monkey has continuously attacked people in Coc Lac village, Chieng Hac commune. The incidents occurred in quick succession in a short time, and the level is increasingly serious.
However, to date, there is still no radical solution, posing a potential risk of unsafety when people go to the fields to work and produce.

On December 24, 26, 29, 2025 and most recently on January 15, 2026, this monkey individual continuously attacked 4 people in the Coc Lac village production area.
The victims include: Mr. Hoang Van Pao, Hoang Van Phong with minor scratches; Mr. Hoang Van Toi, Hoang Van Hung had to be hospitalized for treatment.
Many others are afraid and do not dare to go to the fields alone because they have been chased and threatened by monkeys.
According to local people, the monkey usually appears in the early morning or late afternoon, seen once every few days, moving near the field area, showing signs of ferocity, no longer afraid of people.

Mr. Hoang Van Toi (Coc Lac village) when going to the fields to pull cassava alone was ambushed by a monkey from behind, biting 3 deep places in his thigh in succession, had 2 stitches stitched and was hospitalized for treatment.
The day before, my husband and I were also threatened by it when we were farming, but luckily we escaped. The next day, I went to work alone and was attacked again by it," Mr. Toi said.

Most recently, on January 15, Mr. Hoang Van Hung (from the same Coc Lac village) when returning from farming was also chased and bitten in the leg by the above monkey, causing him to fall off his motorbike, injure his arm and leg, had 7 stitches and was hospitalized for monitoring.
I was vigilant throughout the field work, but when I came back, it rushed out very quickly, unable to react in time. Until now, I am still scared, not daring to go back to the fields," Mr. Hung shared.
According to Mr. Dang Anh Tien - Head of the Forest Protection Team in charge of the area, the individual who caused the attacks was an old monkey, about 15-17 years old, weighing 10-15kg, with long, sharp fangs.
This monkey lives alone, is very daring and often attacks from behind, so people find it difficult to resist in time," Mr. Tien informed.
On January 29, in an exchange with reporters, Mr. Lai Huu Hung - Vice Chairman of Chieng Hac Commune People's Committee - said that propaganda, expulsion, and trapping measures in the past time have not been effective.
The locality has reported to the Provincial Forest Protection Department requesting support for surveying and having a plan to handle it thoroughly, as soon as possible to ensure safety for people.
Mr. Hoang Trung Kien - Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Coc Lac village - said that not only the people in the village but also neighboring areas such as Lac Ken village and Chieng Ban village are very worried.
People hope to have specific measures soon, not just warnings and expulsions while danger is still present," Mr. Kien said.

Faced with wild monkeys continuously attacking people, the government and functional forces need to soon have a definitive solution to ensure safety for people and end the prolonged anxiety.
