Mr. N.V.H, a resident living in the area, said that this is a street with green trees providing shade, contributing to creating a green, clean, and beautiful urban landscape.

In the dry season, dragon brain trees provide shade, road users really like it. Recently, trees have died en masse, looking very pitiful," Mr. H said.

According to reports, the situation of dead trees has appeared frequently after functional agencies upgraded and renovated the traffic infrastructure on this route.

Real-world records show that on Phu Dong Thien Vuong street, there are about 15 dead camphor trees. Many trees are located adjacent to each other, in front of residential buildings and hotels.

In addition to the dead trees, many other camphor trees were heavily pruned, leaving only bare trunks. Some trees began to sprout young shoots from the trunk after the tops were cut.

People believe that heavy pruning causes the tree to lose its canopy, affecting its growth capacity and urban landscape.

For dead trees, functional agencies proceed to cut them down to ensure safety. After felling, many locations only have tree stumps left, creating space on the sidewalk.

Phu Dong Thien Vuong street is about 2.4km long, connecting from the five-way intersection of Da Lat University to the Mai Anh Dao - Thanh Mau intersection.

This road is planted with hundreds of green trees, creating shade and a characteristic landscape.

Regarding the incident, the People's Committee of Lam Vien ward - Da Lat has intervened to inspect and clarify the cause; and at the same time develop a plan to protect the remaining trees.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc, Chairman of Lam Vien Ward People's Committee - Da Lat, said: Through initial inspection, there are a total of 15 brain fruit trees that died; of which 13 trees have died completely, 2 trees are sprouting young shoots but the recovery ability is very low.

The locality has assigned functional agencies to inspect and clearly determine the cause of the death of brain fruit trees to have handling directions according to regulations," Mr. Phuc said.
