On June 23, the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism of Chu Mom Ray National Park (Sa Thay commune) said that the unit had just coordinated with functional agencies and local authorities to organize the handover and release of 4 rare forest animal individuals back to the natural environment in Sub-area 605 of Chu Mom Ray National Park.

The released individuals include 1 salamander weighing 1kg, 1 pangolin weighing 2.5kg, 1 golden mountain turtle and 1 border mountain turtle. These are all endangered, precious and rare forest animal species belonging to groups IB and IIB, which are strictly protected by law.
Among them, the salamander individual is evidence in the case of illegal wildlife farming discovered and handled by Kon Tum Ward Police and received by the center from March 18, 2026. The pangolin individual was found stray by people, voluntarily handed over to Sa Loong Commune People's Committee and received by the center on June 1, 2026.

Two individuals of golden mountain turtles and border mountain turtles were voluntarily handed over by people, and then handed over by Sa Thay Commune People's Committee to the center for reception and care.
Before being released back into the natural environment, the individual animals were monitored, cared for and health checked. The results showed that the individuals were in good physical condition, agile, not carrying pathogens and meeting living conditions in nature.
