At the end of November, floods caused dozens of houses in D'ran commune (Lam Dong province) to be flooded, many properties were damaged. When the water receded, during the process of cleaning up the house, a large amount of garbage and damaged items were gathered by people along D'ran Pass.
It is noted that the garbage was piled up in large piles with all kinds such as clothes, plastic bags, mattresses, fertilizer packaging, pesticides, beds, cabinets... for more than 1km, with some points up to 2m high. The waste is congested, giving off a foul smell, polluting the environment and destroying the landscape of the area.

Mr. Pham Minh Tri, a resident of D'ran commune, reported that the situation of garbage dumped along the pass from late November to early December was getting more and more serious, causing the space around the pass to be "surrounded" by unpleasant odors.
As a tourist passing through D'ran Pass, Ms. Trinh Kim Nhu (Dong Nai Province) said that she used to stop to take photos because of the beautiful scenery, but now the garbage is everywhere, disappointing many people and hoping the locality will soon handle it.

According to the people, D'ran Pass belongs to National Highway 20, considered one of the beautiful routes of Lam Dong, and is also the gateway to Da Lat from Phan Rang (Khanh Hoa).
The widespread dumping of garbage not only causes pollution but also poses a potential risk to traffic safety when garbage overflows onto the roadside; at some times, garbage burning and smoke and dust appear, blocking visibility.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Dinh Viet Dung - Chairman of D'ran Commune People's Committee - said that the floods in late November and early December caused a huge amount of garbage, while the Ka Do waste treatment plant was overloaded and could not receive it. In the immediate future, people have to transport garbage to D'ran Pass for temporary collection.
The People's Committee of D'ran commune is working with the Ka Do waste treatment plant to develop a plan to collect and transport dozens of tons of backlogged waste, promptly overcome the pollution situation and restore the environment and clean and beautiful landscape for D'ran Pass.
