According to the Meteorological Agency, from November 3, the Central region may be affected by a combination of several bad weather patterns causing heavy rain, including: low-lying vortex in the south and the middle of the East Sea; the influence of continuously strengthened cold air combined with strong easterly winds at altitudes from 1,500 to 5,000 meters.
From early morning of November 3 to the night of November 3, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai will have moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 40 - 100mm, locally over 200mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (rainfall greater than 100mm/6 hours).
During the day and night of November 4, the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai will have heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall ranging from 70 - 150mm, locally over 300mm. Particularly, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang will have rainfall ranging from 100 - 200mm, locally over 350mm.
Heavy rain in the Central provinces is likely to last for many days and may extend down to Binh Dinh.
The meteorological agency forecasts that thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. The warning level for natural disaster risks due to heavy rain, tornadoes, and lightning is level 1, and for the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang, level 2.
Heavy rains can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
