In recent years, Vietnam has clearly demonstrated its determination in the green transformation process - from the policy level of the Party and State to the specific actions of ministries, branches, businesses and people.
In that process, transportation was identified as a pioneering conversion field. This is a large source of emissions, directly affecting air quality, public health and urban appearance.
Recently, the Prime Minister issued Directive 20/CT-TTg in 2025 on a number of urgent and drastic tasks to prevent and solve environmental pollution. Accordingly, Hanoi is assigned to implement solutions to:
By July 1, 2026: no motorbikes or mopeds using fossil fuels circulate in the Ring Road 1 area;
From January 1, 2028: expanding the scope to the Ring Road 2 area, while limiting private cars running on fossil fuels;
From 2030: continue to expand implementation in the Ring Road 3 area.
With the desire to look back on the efforts achieved, analyze current policies, assess the current situation and find solutions to promote the green transportation transformation process in Vietnam, Lao Dong Newspaper organized a seminar: "Green transportation transformation: Unreversible trend".
The program was attended by guests from Lao Dong Newspaper:
Dr. Khuat Viet Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hanoi Metro
Dr. Hoang Duong Tung - Chairman of the Vietnam Clean Air Network.
Mr. Ngo Viet Dung - Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Sports Automobile Association
The seminar took place on the afternoon of July 17, reported live on Lao Dong Newspaper, laodong.vn.
We respectfully invite readers to follow.
