Lam Dong - Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the past 2 days has caused 1 person to go missing, many houses and crops to be damaged.

On May 26, the Steering Committee for Civil Defense of Lam Dong province informed about the natural disaster situation due to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, and lightning that occurred in the area in recent days.

Accordingly, on May 23-24, a period of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, tornadoes, and lightning occurred in many localities.

Rainfall measured in some communes and wards such as: Tra Tan 90.6mm; Lam Vien - Da Lat 89.2mm; Hoai Duc 68.8mm; Cat Tien 52mm; Xuan Huong - Da Lat 47.8mm; Don Duong 44.6mm...

As a result, 1 person went missing in Lang Biang ward - Da Lat. The victim is P.T. T. N (13 years old), residing in Dang Gia Det B residential group, Lang Biang ward - Da Lat.

In the field of animal husbandry, in Tra Tan commune, lightning struck and burned the electrical system, causing about 70,000 laying hens raised in a closed model by TaFa Viet Company to die, causing damage of about 8 billion VND.

The estimated total value of damage caused by natural disasters in the past 2 days in the province is about 16 billion VND.

Currently, localities and functional forces are continuing to search for the missing child along the downstream stream area; and at the same time mobilizing forces to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.

Regarding damage in livestock breeding, the locality is coordinating with TaFa Viet Company to verify the extent of damage and develop a remedial plan.

Also on the morning of May 26, Lam Dong Provincial Hydrometeorological Station continued to issue warnings of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and localized heavy rain in the province.

During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain with high intensity in a short time can cause flooding in low-lying areas, landslides in areas with weak soil foundations and along rivers and streams.
