Due to the activity of the low pressure area connected to the low pressure trough and the northeast monsoon, the weather forecast for some sea areas is unfavorable.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the northeast monsoon has affected the weather in many sea areas, the Huyen Tran Observatory has strong northeast winds of level 6. Currently, the low pressure trough in the south has its axis at about 5 - 7 degrees north latitude connected to the low pressure area. At 7:00 AM on January 5, the center of the low pressure area is at about 5.5 - 6.5 degrees north latitude and 111.5 - 112.5 degrees east longitude.

On January 5th, day and night, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) will have strong northeast winds at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting at level 7 - 8. From near dawn on January 6th, the wind will strengthen to level 6, gusting at level 7 - 8, rough seas, waves 2-4 m high.

The sea area from Gia Lai to Dak Lak and the central East Sea area will have strong northeast winds at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts at level 7 - 8, rough seas, waves 2 - 4 m high.

The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ca Mau and the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of the Truong Sa special zone) have strong northeast winds at level 6, gusts at level 7 - 8, rough seas, waves 3-5 m high.

Near the morning of January 6, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the northeast wind gradually strengthened to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2.5 - 3.5 m high.

In addition, on the day and night of January 5, the central and southern areas of the East Sea (including Truong Sa special zone) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

On January 6th, day and night, in the Gulf of Tonkin, northeast wind will be strong at level 6, gusting at level 7 - 8, rough seas, waves 2.5 - 3.5 m high.

The Northern East Sea area (including Hoang Sa special zone) has strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9, strong sea waves, waves 3-5 m high.

The area from South Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa and the central East Sea area will have northeast winds gradually strengthening to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 3-5 m high.

The sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau and the western sea area of the South East Sea (including the western sea area of the Truong Sa special zone) will have northeast winds gradually strengthening to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts of level 8 - 9, strong rough seas, waves 4-6 m high.

The meteorological agency warns that the level of natural disaster risk at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves.
