On July 17, the Thuong Trach Commune Health Station (Quang Tri Province) said that the unit's doctors and nurses had just successfully supported a Lao mother in giving birth while traveling to a higher-level medical facility. Currently, the health of both mother and child is stable and is being cared for at the station.
The mother is Ms. Mang Xon (25 years old), residing in Noon Ma village, Bua La Pha district (Laos). Previously, on July 16, due to poor medical conditions in her residential area, when she showed signs of labor, her relatives took her to the Thuong Trach Commune Health Station for examination.
Through inspection, medical staff determined that the pregnant woman had a weak physical condition and an unstable fetal heart, so they immediately transferred her to the emergency room.
However, after having just moved a distance, Ms. Mang Xon became pregnant. The doctors and nurses who accompanied him quickly handled the situation and successfully prevented the birth on the way.
It is known that this is the mother's 5th childbirth. The newborn baby was born healthy and was taken back to Thuong Trach Commune Health Station with his mother for monitoring.
The Thuong Trach commune government visited, encouraged and acknowledged the sense of responsibility and quick response of the commune health team.
