Nearly 1 week after undergoing dangerous surgery, the health of Ms. M.T.M (33 years old, residing in Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province) and her children has stabilized.
Before that, Ms. M.T.M was hospitalized with a pregnancy of 35 weeks, and was diagnosed by a doctor with plaque- edented tooth decay. This is a very dangerous obstetric complication, which can cause massive bleeding, threatening the lives of the mother and fetus and is required to have surgery.
Dr. Truong Vinh Quy - Deputy Director of Quang Tri General Hospital said that the hospital has previously intervened in some cases of plaque-and- footrest problems but in mild cases.
"In the case of pregnant woman M.T.M having her periodontitis inserted in the most severe and dangerous part of the body, the hospital mobilized the involvement of good doctors and 5 departments in coordination, including obstetrics department, pediatrics department, general surgery department, blood infusion bloodology department, anesthesia and resuscitation department" - Dr. Truong Vinh Quy said.
At 2:00 p.m. on July 3, doctors at Quang Tri General Hospital held a consultation, and at 5:00 p.m. the surgery was performed and after 1:00 a.m. the surgery was completed.
The surgery was successful, the mother recovered quickly, and the baby's health was stable. Currently, Ms. M.T.M and the baby are being cared for and monitored at the Obstetrics Department, Provincial General Hospital.
